Built around 1910, this 2 bedroom mid terrace (with extension built in 1980s) has had the following eco improvements:
  • 4kwh SVP system installed November 2015
  • Nest intelligent thermostat
  • Spray loft insulation installed February 2015
  • LED energy saving throughout
  • Chimney bag
  • Brick in toilet
  • Double glazing throughout
Spray seal insulation has shown a marked improvement in warmth and noise reduction in the house - you can see how effective it is from the winter image (neighbouring houses are losing heat through their roofs while frost is settled on this house). This type of insulation was was chosen because it enables full use of the loft floor andt stabilises the roofing tiles while remaining breathable. There is also thin insulation under the boarding in the loft. You will be able to take a look at the loft insulation on the open day.

Electricity usage is around one third or one quarter of the average for a similar property, with grid electricity usage halving since the solar panels were installed.
